Jonatan Lavarra joined Satconsult as Satcom Payload Engineer in May 2023. He has more than 3 years of experience in the telecom and satellite sectors, including digital payloads for flexible payload and VHTS satellites, working from preliminary designs down to AIT phases and in orbit testing.
Prior to joining Satconsult, Jonatan was a Payload Architect in Thales Alenia Space in the Telecom Business Line. He was the architect for the first flexible satellite built by TAS, on the Space Inspire program. He was before the Digital Payload architect for Very High Throughput Satellites (VHTS), in charge of the High Speed TMTC Link between the Hilink and the Digital Transparent Processor.
Previously, at Airbus, Jonatan was part of the RF Payload IVVQ team, involved on many aspects of AIT activities. He has a strong expertise in radio-frequency, payload equipments, EGSE and flexible satellites.
Jonatan is a graduate from ENSEIRB-MATMECA, specializing in Electronics and Radio-Frequency Systems. He also holds a Master in Micro-Electronics from the University of Bordeaux.
